Welcome to the memorial page for

Eileen G. Hutson

January 21, 1951 ~ June 8, 2016 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Eileen G. Hutson, 65 entered eternal rest on June 8, 2016 at her home in Saratoga Springs with her family by her side. After a valiant fight with breast cancer in 2005, Eileen’s battle resumed in 2014. Her strong will to live, faith in God and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through.

Eileen was born January 21st 1951 in Loudonville to the late Arthur and Gertrude Herman. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and mother-in-law. Eileen was known for her ease in conversation with strangers and possessed a contagious smile and entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor and won the trust and hearts of many. Her constant smiling and dancing around will never be forgotten.

Eileen was raised and educated in Latham NY. In 1973 she married to her loving husband, Albert T. Hutson. Together they moved to Georgia where Eileen attended Swainsboro Technical School and received her license to work as a Practical Nurse. She worked at the Bullock County Hospital in Statesboro GA as an LPN for a number of years.

Eileen and her husband returned to NY in 1982 to raise their family in Schenectady where they were longtime residents. Eileen decided to pursue her passion for the Arts and desire to work with children. She graduated with a B.A. in the Arts from Empire State College. Eileen worked as a substitute teacher in the Niskayuna school district for the Arts Department while still working as a private duty nurse.

In 2008 Eileen and her husband moved to Naples FL to enjoy the sunshine and tennis. The distance was too far from their growing family and moved back to Saratoga Springs where she spent the rest of her days. Eileen treasured her time making jewelry, beading, needlepoint, gardening, playing tennis, road trips and above all her greatest joy in life was her family.

Together 43 years with her husband and devoted caretaker, Albert T. Hutson; loving mother to Albert M. Hutson of Saratoga Springs, Laura L. Perretta and husband Patrick Perretta of Glenville; grandmother to Deirdra E. Sloane (Gail Sloane) and Maria E. Perretta; sister to Jill Hughes and husband Lisle Hughes of Latham; aunt to Cody Hughes, Grace Croson and husband Kyke Croson; sister-in-law to Dorothy “Dot” Ingerbritsen and husband Donald Ingerbritsen of East Greenbush. Also survived by many extended family members and countless friends touched by Eileen’s warmth and love.

The family would like to thank the nurses from VNA and Hospice for their wonderful care.
