Ygnacio (Inky) Ballestero of Pettis Road, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at his home following a long illness.  He was 89.

Born on October 17, 1926 in Middletown, NY, he was the son of Antonio and Francisca (Prada) Ballestero.

Inky grew up in Saratoga Springs and on July 11, 1963, he married Irene Dominy.

For more than 60 years, he was employed by the family business, M & J Construction of Saratoga Springs, retiring 4 years ago.

He was an avid Adirondack outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting & fishing especially with his friend Bernie Shaw.

He was a member of the Gansevoort Masonic Lodge for many years.  He also enjoyed the company of his faithful companions Gigi, Destiny, and Dante.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a daughter Yvonne Fortune and a brother Paul Ballestero.

He leaves his loving wife of 53 years Irene (Dominy) Ballestero of Gansevoort; a son David Ballestero and wife Jeanne of Wilton; six daughters Katherine Patterson and husband Ed of Saratoga Springs, Kathleen Doubleday and husband Theodore, Sr., of Westminster, CO,

Helen Fox and husband James of Lake Luzerne   Donna Carruthers of Gansevooort, Nancy Ernst of Saratoga Springs, and Laurie  Leonard of Hudson Falls; grandchildren Heather (Ryann, Elena, Paige), Holly, Matt, Theo (Theodore), Camille ( Jacob, Ayden, Collan), Alicia, Cory (Cole), Jennie, Megan (Chloe, Benjamin, Johnny), David (Emma), Zackery, and Tiffany; three brothers Antonio Ballestero of King of Prussia, PA, Manuel Ballestero of Burnt Hills, and James “Jimmy” Ballestero of Saratoga Springs; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, October 8 at Compassionate Funeral Care, Inc., 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs. Burial will be at Gurn Springs Cemetery in Wilton. Calling hours will be held from 10am to 12 Noon prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
