I heard today about Tonn's passing. I only had the privilege of working with Tonn for eight years, but felt that he was more than a co-worker- he was a friend and mentor as well. We would chat about our psychologist position, professional interests, and (mostly) our children and family. He was such a kind and generous person and truly loved you all. My children were quite young and Tonn was quick to give very helpful advice and support. He proudly shared news of his your accomplishments- every NPR interview, television clip, National Geographic article, change in university, and new home/move. I feel like I knew you. After he retired and then left his part-time position, we continued to stay in touch and meet for lunch every five or six months just to chat and catch up. When I changed positions a few years ago, our lunches became fewer and further between and over a year has passed since we'd last talked. He had been on my mind lately and am saddened that I didn't call. Tonn truly touched my life in so many ways. From his influence my family and I developed a love of kringles and will now eat them every Christmas in his honor. Please accept my heart-felt condolences.

It's been almost 20 yrs since our Wilton Hilton days, but I will remember Tonn fondly especially his sense of humor, his realistic & often sarcastic attitude. His unique gait & the way he would push his hair out of his eyes, his snide grin & mischievous laugh & the cigarette. God bless him . My sincere condolences to the family who is immensely proud.
