I met Pat Breite in 2012 as part of an interview project I was doing of people in Maplewood Manor. Pat was a joy to know and to interview. Her memory was totally intact and she remembered details from a long and eventful life with precision. She was full of such joy that it is a word I will always associate with her. She was funny and warm and very intelligent. Her brief memoir is one that is in the collection that came out of the project, What We Keep. It is a small momento to a large and happy life. I will miss her so much.

I met Pat and her roommate Mary, has to be over 2 years now, when she was part of a book that my friend Mary Cuffe Perez put together. She was courageous and inspirational. She and Mary were always so grateful and happy when I'd visit, always thanking me for coming. However, my visits with them actually gave me more comfort than I believe I gave them, and I say them because they were a couple. I'll continue to go see Mary, but I'll miss Pat deeply. She will always be in my heart and I'm thankful I got to know her.

I met Pat while I was a receptionist at Maplewood and then Saratoga Center. She would frequently come to visit with me to just say HI!! I always told her what a beautiful outfit she was wearing that day; such a lady impeccably dressed. I will miss her and her great attitude toward life...BE HAPPY!! Truly will be missed...My heartfelt sorrow in seeing her go. God bless your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pat was a wonderful, sweet woman. I remember how she helped my mother settle into her new home at Maplewood when she arrived a few years ago. Every time I visited, I remember telling her how nice she looked that day. Pat always had a smile and something nice to say. I will miss her dearly. Visiting my dear friend Mary just won't be the same without a smile and a goodbye from Pat.
