Wilma Mae (Conlee) Bennifield-Jones, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025 at her home.
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother and Sister, has returned home to the loving arms of her Lord & Savior; and has reunited with her parents, husband, and lifelong friends.
Wilma (younger brother Wayne) was born on July 6,1951, in Saratoga Springs, NY to the late Arthur and Marion Austin Conlee.
She was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs. She attended Saratoga Springs High school and was a member of the Color Guard. She went on to proudly earn her GED in 1978. She worked in many fields before embarking on her career in Custodial services at Washington-Saratoga County BOCES - Henning Road, Saratoga Springs, retiring in 2010 after 25 years of service.
Wilma found peace and comfort in helping others in any way possible. Over the years, she welcomed friends and family into her home providing refuge. She bought and collected donations for the Battered Women’s shelter, the Homeless community, prepared and sent care boxes to children overseas and made continuous donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. She found pleasure playing bingo, garage sales and loved attending the Saratoga Flat and Harness tracks with friends and family.
Wilma’s greatest joy was her family, and she cherished the moments spent with them. She is survived by her brother Wayne Conlee of South Glens Falls, NY, four children; son Richard King (Rebecca) of Somers CT, daughters, Angela King (Patti), Waan Bennifield (Eddie) and Aarrika Jones (Erin) all of Saratoga Springs, NY, grandchildren, Adam King, Nikolas King, Brady King, Emma King, Cody King, Makyah Darrisaw, Madden King-O’Keefe, Meyah Delgado, Jaydan Delgado, Anissa Garnsey, Elizabeth Garnsey, a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Thomas Jones, brothers Leon Conlee, Ralph Conlee, and Ronald Conlee.
The Family extends a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. John Delmonte, Jr, MD, Jordyn Thiem, PA-C, Nurse Amy and the entire Staff at Saratoga Oncology and Hematology - Care Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY. Thank you for your unwavering care and dedication to our mother over the last 12+ years.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Following the service, family and friends are invited for further fellowship at the Principessa Elena Society, 13 Oak Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
