SARATOGA SPRINGS - William B. Hoffman, age 56, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his family
He was born on May 5, 1962 in Stamford, NY, the son of William A. Hoffman and Sadie C. Bruce Hoffman.
Bill grew up in Stuyvesant, NY. He attended Ichabod Crane High where he participated on the Track and Cross-Country teams. He was chosen to accompany the 1976 Olympic Games New York State torch team.
In later years, he became an avid photographer, had a great appreciation of Architecture, loved music and cats. Bill enjoyed day trips to art and craft festivals, museums, and waterfalls and nature sites. He also loved to read and greatly admired fancy sports cars.
Those who knew him would say he was a very loving caring family man who had a unique sense of humor, a very dry wit and generous heart. He sincerely believed in helping out the unfortunate.
Bill is survived by his partner in life, Robbin A. MacFarran; son, Colin P. Hoffman; step-children, Christopher MacFarran, Emily Fitzgerald; grandson, Christian Hoffman; brother, Brian Hoffman; sister, Melisa Rigney (Michael) and many friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends may call from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.+
