Wendy Theresa Fortino

Wendy Theresa Fortino was a beautiful, caring daughter, mother, sister and friend. She left this world after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on August 28, 2023 at the age of 55.  Her suffering gave way to angels bringing her home to the Lord.

After attending Saratoga Schools, she went on to graduate from the Barbizon School of Modeling in Albany, New York.  Her first modeling job was to dress up like a Vegas Showgirl and introduce the NYS Talking Lottery machines in several Stewart’s Shops. Wendy later attended Empire State College and went on to a career as a paralegal working at several law firms in Saratoga County.  But in her loving and caring way, her greatest accomplishment was raising three children, Jesse, Madison and Halleigh with whom she devoted her life and filled their home with laughter and love.

Wendy is survived by her three children; her mother, Linnea Peters; her devoted brothers, Ted (Mary Andrews), Zielinski, Christopher Zielinski; several cousins and loving aunts, Sandra Crooks and Connie Gleason. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Fortino; daughter, Krista Cherry and her father, Stanley Zielinski.

The family will visit with friends Friday, September 1, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. following the calling hours at the funeral home with Father James Ebert officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday September 1, 2023 at Warrensburg Cemetery, 110 Hudson St, Warrensburg, NY 12885
