Toni Lynn Brown, age 81, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, in Selma, TX.
Born on June 4, 1943, in New York, New York, to Thomas J. Gibson Jr. and Jannie L. Davis Gibson, Toni led a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for her family and friends. She began her career at Macy's before moving on to work in the container division at General Foods. As a single mother, Toni worked tirelessly to provide for her family, building a strong network of friends and loved ones along the way. Her life was defined by her selflessness, always putting others' needs ahead of her own, even during her own struggles.
Toni had a passion for following her sons as they moved across various parts of the United States. In her quieter moments, she found joy in reading novels, cheering on the Golden State Warriors and Kansas City Chiefs, and watching episodes of Law & Order.
She was a devoted mother to Charles and Rodney and a beloved grandmother to Erin, Corinne, Jacqueline, Tyler, Matthew, Rianna, and Adrianna. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren Alexus, Mia, Mason, Christian, and Freya. Toni is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Brown, her loving sisters, Johnnie Gibson Roberts and Joy King, and her dear nieces and nephews, Michelle Conde, Hallie Mckinnon, Natasha Gibson, Donielle Whitfield Miller, Clinton Whitfield, Aaron King II, and Alexander King.
Toni was preceded in death by her daughter, Yvonne Monique Brown, her parents, Thomas J. Gibson Jr. and Jannie L. Davis Gibson, her siblings, Jannie V. Gibson Daggs, Thomas J. Gibson III, and Terri Gibson Whitfield, and her nephew, William F. Conde III. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at St. Peter's Cemetery, 150 West Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, where she will be laid to rest.
