Thomas W Moritz Jr. passed peacefully on Wednesday August 12, 2026.
Tom is predeceased by his mother's parents Isabell & Francis N LaChambre, his father's parents Catherine & Lawrence Moritz, his parents Joyce & Thomas W Moritz Sr., his younger brother Jay Moritz, his brother-in-law Eric Burke, as well as Tom's mother-in-law.
Tom is survived by his loving wife and companion of 26 years, Militza (Pixi)Moritz; Marge Moritz Galehouse (Aunt); Annette and John Moritz (Aunt & Uncle), Lisa Moritz(sister) and Shannon Smith, Taylor Smith, Payton Smith; Suzanne Moritz(sister), Cameron Burke, Gavin Burke; Julie Moritz(sister) and Joseph Santoro, Lilliana Santoro, Thomas Santoro, Elizabeth Nall Moritz(sister-in-law).
Tom leaves behind not only immediate family, but also the extended family he gained through his marriage to Pixi. He will be deeply missed by her father, siblings, nieces, nephews and their families who loved him so very much.
Tom was born in Wooster, OH to Joyce and Thomas W Moritz Sr.
During Tom's High School years, he enjoyed participating in a German exchange student program and he considered it a very important part of his education. Tom graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Systems Engineering. He was a lifelong proud Hokie alumnus.
As a young student Tom had a lot of fun working summers at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Tom managed supply chain, planning, logistics, and manufacturing management positions. A few of his favorite organizations were Frito Lay in Kirkwood, NY & Killingly, CT; Truck-Lite in Wellsboro, PA & Harlow-UK; and Greenfield Industries in Seneca, SC. Tom was active with APICS/ASCM since being a Virginia Tech student member, and hosted certification classes in three different states/chapters. Tom lived and worked in every eastern state from Rhode Island to Georgia, minus Delaware. He also had a 20 month assignment in UK through Truck-Lite, and had the opportunity to attend the 2012 London Olympics with his wife while there. He currently was enjoying his position as Supply Chain Manager-Global External Manufacturing, with Bausch and Lomb.
Tom cherished the outdoors and contributed to land and nature conservation organizations. He hiked a large part of the Appalachian Trail as a young man and loved the nature parks around Virginia Tech while he was an undergrad. Tom continued to enjoy the outdoors by walking many different trails with his cherished wife Pixi & beloved dog Caramel. Tom was a self-proclaimed "foodie", he liked to try new restaurants and food truck delicacies, watching cooking shows, barbecuing, and loved cooking for family and friends.
Tom was a lifelong reader and science fiction fan. A few of his favorite authors were Isaac Asimov, Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, Ursula Le Guin, Ray Bradbury, and JRR Tolkien. Tom thoroughly enjoyed Sci-Fi movies and TV series including Star Wars, Dr. Who, and Firefly. He was a lifelong fan of Star Trek and admired its philosophies and futuristic way of life.

A funeral Mass will be held for Tom in the Catholic church where he was baptized, at St Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wooster, OH, date & time to be announced.
