Saratoga Springs – Thomas A. McTygue, 56, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 16, 1969, in Saratoga Springs, NY, Tom was the son of the late Thomas E. and Theresa (Mayette) McTygue. A lifelong resident of Saratoga, Tom attended Saratoga Springs High School, where he met the love of his life, Melissa.
Proud to have served his country, Tom was a dedicated member of the United States Army. He later became a longtime and valued employee of the Gideon Putnam Hotel, where his hard work and friendly nature left a lasting impression on coworkers and guests alike.
Above all, Tom cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa L. McTygue; his daughter, Aleece M. McTygue; his son, Brandon S. McTygue; and his two cherished grandsons, Robert A. Gordon and William J. Gordon. He also leaves behind his sister, Wanda Emery; his brother, Jason McTygue (Colleen); and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by other loved ones who now welcome him with open arms.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories during calling hours from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 3:00 PM, following the service, at the Maple Avenue Fire Company, located at 615 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY.
