Thomas (Jr.) Jones

Thomas ("Titt”/TT) Jones Jr, age: 87, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 in his home.

He was born on December 24, 1935, in Orangeburg County, SC and raised in Aiken South Carolina, the son of the late Thomas Jones, Sr. and Flora Mae Dixon.

Tom devotedly worked as a Groomsman for multiple horse trainers with the New York Racing Association before retiring.

He had a passion for fishing, traveling, horses and tending to his beloved garden.

Tom is survived by his Wife and Life Partner of over 40 years, Wilma Bennifield-Jones, his daughter Aarrika Jones-Reed (Erin) and his Stepchildren: Richard T. King (Rebecca), Angela King (Patti), Waan Bennifield (Edward); Four Brothers: Joe Louis Jones, Sr (Betty) of North Carolina, Joseph Jones (Esther) of Paterson New Jersey, John Willie Scott (Olivia) of Long Island City New York, Amos Jones, Sr (Sherrie) of Aiken South Carolina. Three Sisters: Rubina Green of Aiken South Carolina, Leola Mackie of Aiken South Carolina, Remelle Holly of Blackville South Carolina. Grandchildren: Adam, Nikolas, Makyah, Meyah, Cody, Jaydan, Anissa, Beth, Madden, Brady, Emma and several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Lizzy Dixon, James Edward Jones, Viola Green, Clarence Green and his loyal and beloved cat - Tootsie

Family and friends may call from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Friday March 31, 2023, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave (Rte. 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm.
