Tammy Weinar

Tammy Weinar, 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 6, 1961, in Schenectady, NY, Tammy was the beloved daughter of the late Russell Chignon and Ida Mae Nelson Chignon.

Tammy spent many years as a dedicated salesclerk at Rite Aid in Clifton Park, where she made lasting connections with her community. She had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed various hobbies, including playing games on her phone, hook latch crocheting, and shopping. Tammy took great pleasure in cooking meals for her family and friends and had a particular love for shoes. Above all, she had a deep passion for the outdoors, finding joy in nature's beauty.

She is survived by her beloved partner, Kristel Willey; her daughters, Samantha Smith and Shannon Reynolds; and Kristel’s sons, George Willey, Jr., Chance Willey, and Deven Pixley. Tammy also leaves behind her brother, Clifford Rigler (Maryann); sisters, Kelly McGrew (Bruce) and Bernadette Haney; three cherished grandchildren; and many dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, George Gigler, and her sister, Crystall Figler.

A funeral service to honor Tammy's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Compassionate Funeral Care, located at 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., just prior to the service at the funeral home.
