Stephen A. Henderer

Stephen A. Henderer, age 73, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 with loved ones at his side. He was born on May 19, 1949 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of the late Arthur Henderer and Bernice Viele (step father Robert Viele).
Stephen Henderer graduated from Saratoga Springs High school.  This wonderful soul's life did not come to an end with his death. Stephen, singer/songwriter all around musician wrote beautiful songs from his heart. He played guitar in many bands throughout his life and leaves behind a brotherhood of musicians that will sorely miss him. A handsome man, a good person, a fun and loving friend and father. He loved his community of Saratoga Springs and worked on its behalf in many ways.
 

As a stained glass artist, his legacy lives on in the beautiful windows and pieces he has  restored and created throughout the years. His restoration of the beautiful Canfield Casino windows, a number of windows at Yaddo Artist retreat and many other projects in churches and homes that still and will always light up our lives. In his later years he served as the building inspector for the city of Saratoga Springs as well as a long-time member of the Ataxia Foundation.
 

Stephen is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Hollis; cousin, Susan Brundige; grandchildren, Sara Moore and Sage Hunt; great-grandchildren, Knox Lee Hunt and Rhett Arthur Hunt and lifelong friends who cared so much for him. He will be dearly
missed but his heart and work lives on.
 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at The Greenfield Cemetery, 78 Wilton Rd, Greenfield Center, NY 12833. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 pm at The End Zone, 32 Ballston Ave. Saratoga Springs, NY 41042 following the burial.
