Shelly Derr Weidner

Shelly Derr Weidner, 71, of Gansevoort NY, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2025. She was born on January 14, 1954 in Reading, PA. She was the daughter of the late Dolores E. (Winter) and Calvin C. Weidner.

Shelly graduated from Freedom High School, Bethlehem, PA. and then went on to earn a nursing degree. She was employed at The Pines at Glens Falls nursing home in New York. She served in the Navy for four years active duty, Naval Service Personnelman 2nd Class (PS2) and then in the Reserves for 16 years. She loved cooking and gardening - especially growing her own vegetables. She had a great sense of humor and a talent for writing.

She is survived by her faithful companion (30 yrs) and loving caregiver Bernie Molema, her daughter Jennifer (Wimmer) Denny of Illinois, two grandchildren: Ella and Miles Denny, her sisters: Cathy Covino of Bath, PA and Robin Michel of Peoria, Arizona, and a nephew Adam Covino. She was preceded in death by her brother Dean Weidner and her nephew Calvin Michel.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family, in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
