Rose M. Eichler, age 86 peacefully passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Mary’s Haven with her family by her side.
She was born on January 28, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late John Sullivan and Loretta Schadt Sullivan. Rose proudly graduated from St. Columbus High School in 1956.
For over fifty years, Rose worked as a Domestic Cleaner, managing to balance her career with her dedication to her family. At one point, she even owned Eichler Variety. Rose had an immense love for life and a boundless heart for helping others; she never turned anyone away.
She was a devoted member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, actively participating in their Christmas parties for many years. Rose also served as a girl scout leader and was a member of the Eagles. In her spare time, she enjoyed activities like BINGO, visiting garage sales, and exploring flea markets. Her happiest moments were spent traveling, boating, and, of course, watching Elvis Presley perform.
Rose is survived by her son, William A. Eichler, III (Cheryl); daughters, Linda Bradley (Bill), Jacqueline Marcellus, Valerie Crawford (Earl), and Rose Busold (Chris); as well as her sister, Maureen Wingert (Robert), many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Charlie. She also leaves behind many friends who will deeply miss her kind and generous spirit.
Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William A. Eichler, Jr., her son, John P. Eichler, three sisters, Madeline Simmons, Betty Naatz, Laurie Brewer, one brother, Patrick Sullivan and son-in-law, Terry Marcellus.
Calling hours will be observed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 at St. Mary’s Church, 167 Milton Ave, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
A graveside service will take place at 10:30 a.m. in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871 following the service.
