Obituary
Robert F. Mercier of Ballston Spa, passed away on his birthday, Tuesday August 15, 2023 following a brief reoccurrence of cancer. He was 73 years old. Robert was born on August 15, 1950, to Robert and Salvina Mercier in Albany, NY.
Robert served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He then went to work for and retired from Penn Central which later became CSX Railroad.
Robert was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Joyce Filkins and her husband Robert, Theresa Brown and her husband Robert; brothers-in-law, Charles Nedeau and Richard Poutre.
Robert is survived by his daughters; Jennifer (Christopher Dabek) and Christina (Kendall Hicks); his sisters Ethel and Gloria; a brother Richard (Rose). He was a proud Papa to Brandon, Dalton and Delainey and his great granddaughter Madison, as well as many nieces and nephews. Robert is also survived by his former wife Carol Mercier.
Interment with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
