Robert P. Kirkpatrick, 80, of Saratoga Springs, NY passed peacefully at home into eternal life on December 15, 2023 following a long battle with cancer.
Bob was born on June 25, 1943 in Saratoga Springs, NY to the late Mary A. Koval Bogus. Bob grew up on the family farm, Koval Bros. Dairy in Stillwater, NY where he was raised by his grandmother, Mary Koval and his Uncle Stephen Koval. He started driving a Ford Tractor at the age of 6 and helped on the family farm until he left for college. Bob attended Bryant College, Rhode Island and finished his associates degree at Adirondack Community College. After college he worked at the family feed store, Koval Farm and Garden in Saratoga Springs as manager during the 60’s. Bob married his childhood sweetheart, Betty Little Kirkpatrick in February 1966. Shortly after marrying he went into the Air Force and was stationed at Beale Air Force Base in California, following Bob’s honorable discharge from the Air Force he served as Tech Sargent in the Air National Guard for many years.
Bob and family returned to New York where he began his 50-year long career working summers at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Union 592 as a stagehand and later a rigger where he made many lifelong friends. He also worked as a full-time technician at the Pepsi Arena and retired after 19.5 years, he served as Vice President and Business Agent for the arena union. He was an active member of the Saratoga Elks Club and member of Union 14, Union 52 and Union 936.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Betty Little Kirkpatrick of Saratoga Springs; daughter Mary Theresa (Scott) Sobon, Lisa Maria (Scott) Clark and grandson, Ridge M. (Nicole) Koebbeman all of Deans Corners, Stillwater, NY.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Pezzulo and his staff and also the Hospice staff for the care they provided Bob.
The burial will be private at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
