Richard "Bub" Joseph Collins

The sun rose on December 2, 1970 and set on March 1, 2021, our son Richard Joseph Collins (Bub) left this earth to go fishing in heaven. 

He was fighting cancer for a year and lost his battle.   He was a great son, Brother, Father, Uncle and longtime partner of Nicole. 

He was the first to help and always had a quick wit.  He had his own contracting business, Bubba the Handy Man.  Bub left a lasting impression on all he met.  He loved fishing, hunting, camping, boating, and going to the racino.  He loved football and his dog Teggie Joseph which he adored. 

He is survived by his three sons, James, Jesse, and Nicholas; his parents, Richard Patrick Collins and Charlotte (Gailor) Collins; sister, Tammy D’Ercole; his longtime companion and caregiver, Nicole Surprenant; four nieces, two grand nieces, many cousins, two aunts, special friend Teddy Z and his card playing friends. 

A funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends may call from 4 pm to 6 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

 A burial will be at a later date.
