Richard J. Travis, Jr.

Richard J. Travis, Jr., age 82 passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital. 

He was born on September 8, 1939 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of the late Richard J. Travis, Sr. and Helen Mabb.   

Richard J. Travis, Jr worked at (jobs) Retired from working many years at Friendly’s as a wonderful cook.

Richard J. Travis enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, gambling at casino, he was a life long member of the Eagles club, all through his life he loved to pick up cans and pecans, people loved to call him the can man. Dick was always a hustler and always tried to make a dollar, he was a hardworking man.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta Pregent Travis; sons, Paul Travis (Nancy), Richard Travis III (Judy), Corey Pregent (Peggy); daughters, Robin Carter, Kimberly Ferrari (Robert), Helen Travis (Bryan Hyde); sisters, Salley Sanders, Rose Makkie; brother-in-law, Larry Pregent (Carol); sister-in-law, Dorothy Gleason; 22 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss his humble spirit. 

He is preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Frederick, Billy, Arthur; sisters, Mary Pratt, Ethel Pregent, and granddaughter, Haley Carter.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY.  Family and friends may call from 10 am to 12 noon prior to the service at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Corner of Weibel Ave and Louden Road, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Due to the ongoing public health concerns of COVID-19 social distancing as well as wearing of a face mask is recommended.
