Richard J. Audevard, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Saratoga Springs on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
Born on July 15, 1948, in Dobbs Ferry, NY, he was the son of the late Louis and Eileen (Dunn) Audevard.
Richard was a proud graduate of Dobbs Ferry High School, Class of 1967, where he excelled as a three-sport athlete. He began his career with the Irvington Recreation Department and later retired from the Irvington Department of Public Works after many dedicated years of service.
A passionate supporter of athletics, Richard was a 25-year member of the Westchester County Football Officials Association and also served with the NYSPHSAA as a High School girls softball official. Beyond the field, he shared a deep love for thoroughbred horses, a passion that eventually led him to settle in Saratoga Springs, where he embraced the racing community as a horse owner.
Above all, Richard will be remembered for his humble spirit, devotion to family, and his ability to form lifelong friendships.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Florence “Flo”; his son, Erik Seman (Noelle); cherished grandchildren, Erik Jr., Dillon, and Ryan; sisters, Joan Kennedy and Eileen Brancale (Clem); brothers, Robert Audevard (Judy) and Tom Audevard (Diane); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will dearly miss him.
Calling hours will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY.
