Reverend Rose Lee Durr

Reverend Rose Lee Durr, aged 75, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at Saratoga Hospital.

Rose was born on March 11, 1948, in Winter Garden, Florida, to the late George P. Loving and Viola King Loving.

For many years, Rose served as a dedicated housekeeper at Wesley Healthcare Center. She also had a deep fondness for Western movies, finding joy and entertainment in their stories.

Her true calling, however, was her unwavering love for the gospel, which led her to become an ordained Reverend. Rose was a devoted servant of the Lord who not only cherished the word of God but also the God of the word. Her prayers extended endlessly to her family and God's children. She found immense fulfillment in teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, spreading His message with passion and devotion.

Rose is survived by her sons, Timothy Loving and Robert Durr; her daughter, Theresa Durr; her brother, George Loving; her sister, Annie Mount; ten beloved grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will deeply miss her gracious heart and warm smile.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband and her daughters, Rosa Durr and Benita Durr.

A funeral service in her honor will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Compassionate Funeral Care, located at 402 Maple Avenue (Route 9 and Marion Avenue), Saratoga Springs, New York with Rev. Michele Chavers officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.

Following the service, a graveside service will take place at Greenridge Cemetery, 17 Greenridge Place, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866, where Rose will find her final resting place.
