Ray W. Miller

Ray W. Miller, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Ellis Hospital with his family at his side. 

He was born on January 22, 1942 in Hudson, NY, the son of the late Raymond S. Miller and Julia (Ozack) Miller.  Ray graduated from Colonie Central High School, Russell Sage Junior College and attended Siena College.  The first 20 years of his career he was employed as an independent insurance agent. 

Ray worked at Frank Brothers Flooring for many years as a sales associate. He was also V.P. of Saratoga Springs Junior Chamber of Commerce.  Ray enjoyed his time Coaching Pop Warner Football.

Ray loved the outdoors; he spent many hours feeding squirrels and chipmunks. He maintained many bird feeders. Ray also loved reading about American history and working in the garden.  During his free time, he loved hiking and walking the nature trails in the woods.  But most of all spending time with family was his greatest joy.

Ray is survived by his loving wife Nancy M. (Jaffarian) Miller of 58 years; son, Ray W. Miller Jr. (Deborah); daughter, Kristen Surber (Mark); brother-in-law, John Jaffarian (Patricia); sister-in-law, Katherine Allen (Richard); grandchildren, Amanda Gipe, Renee Miller, Kaitlin Surber, Nolan Surber; and many nieces, nephews, friends and his many cats.  

He is preceded in death by his sister Linda Miller Drugda.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday July 7, 2021, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave, Saratoga Springs, New York.  Family and friends may call from 9 am to 10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held in Greenridge Cemetery, 17 Green Ridge Pl, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 following the service at the funeral home.
