Obituary

Randy Akstull, born on March 18, 1951 to the late Ernest Joseph Armstrong and Shirley Daus Armstrong in Troy, New York, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at her home in Corinth. 

Randy lived a remarkable life, filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and those around her. As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, she touched the lives of countless individuals and always ensured that everyone felt loved and valued.  With her caring nature and warm heart, it made her a beacon of light in the lives of her family.  She was a devoted wife, she created a loving and nurturing home where her children and grandchildren found comfort and support, always an open door for those who needed it.  As a mother and grandmother, her unwavering support and selflessness were a constant source of strength and encouragement for her family.  She was always honest, generous, and there to lend a helping hand.  She was very active in volunteering at the homeless shelters.  She cherished family gatherings and celebrations as well as going to the ocean and Hampton Beach. 

Randy was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and a faithful member of the Bethesda Episcopal Church.  She will forever be remembered for her warm embrace, and unconditional love.

Randy is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Ken) Akstull ( Lyndall), Corey Akstull,; daughter, Adrienne Fantroy (Aaron); brothers, Thomas Armstrong, Frederick Armstrong (Mary Ellen), Wesley Armstrong (JoAnne); sister, Judith Smith (James); grandchildren, Kai Akstull, David Teeling III, Kimberly Westfall, Kenneth J. Akstull, Aaron Fantroy Jr., many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her warm and loving heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Akstull; brothers, Warren Armstrong, Ernest Joseph Armstrong; sister, Barbara Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Debbie Armstrong and Nancy Armstrong.

The family will visit with friends Friday, August 18, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. following the calling hours at the funeral home with Father Thomas J. Pettigrew officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd. Albany, NY 12205.
