Ralph Robert Benincasa passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2022, at Saratoga Hospital.
He was born on June 27th, in Danbury Connecticut to the late Caetano and Elizabeth (Delnato) Cordeiro.
He attended Danbury High School. Ralph served in the United States Army during the Korean War along with his brother William Benincasa.
Ralph worked in Connecticut for Castro Convertible’s Upholstery. He and his family moved to Saratoga Springs New York in 1978. There along with his wife, owned and operated Design Motel. They owned the motel for 16 years and during that time they made many friends. Ralph had a great repour with customers and business associates. During August, Ralph at night would drive up and down Broadway in Saratoga to see what motels were full or had vacancies. He was fondly known as the “Mayor” of Saratoga. Later after the motel was sold, he was a Parimutual at the Saratoga Racecourse for 18 years. Ralph would do anything for his children and grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (McKenna) Benincasa. His daughter, Lisa Benincasa Radel (Richard), son Gary Benincasa (Nichole), sister Betty (Cordeiro) Lopes. Grandchildren McKenna, Katherine, Brenna and Reagan Radel and Karlee and Mia Benincasa. He has several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, William Benincasa and Caetano Cordeiro Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday January 19, 2022, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Avenue (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York. Calling hours will be held from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, New York 12871 following the service at the funeral home.
