Peter J. Gailor

Peter J. Gailor, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Saratoga Hospital.

He was born on March 12, 1961, in Saratoga Springs, NY the son of the late Ernest N. and Eileen F. (Cormie) Gailor.

Peter was the owner/operator of Peter J. Gailor Landscaping & Excavating Inc. in Saratoga Springs for over 40 years.

When not found on a job site or running a piece of heavy equipment, Peter enjoyed many hobbies.  From his early years of hunting trips to Maine with his Ducks, unlimited friends to later years working on various projects with his son Cole, customizing classic cars, trucks or motorcycles.

He is survived by his son, Cole Gailor; brothers, Ernest J. Gailor (Gail), Michael V. Gailor (Mary), and Steve Gailor; sister, Julie Gailor; his nephews and nieces; Jeremy, Jason, Mike, Alex, and Mary Gailor; and many friends near and far.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Eileen Gailor; and his nephew, Sean Gailor.

Family and friends may call from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave), Saratoga Springs, New York. A funeral service will be held at 4 pm following the calling hours at the funeral home with Father Martin Fisher officiating.

Following the calling hours family and friends are welcome to join the family for further fellowship at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161, 1 Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Notre Dame Cemetery, 115 Burgoyne Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Saratoga Hospital C-3 and A-3 Doctors, Nurses, and staff for their care and compassion for Peter during these last few months. Additionally, a very special thank you to his friends Joe and Sherri for all of their assistance and friendship they offered to Peter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Peter to the K-9 unit of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department.
