Patricia Ellen Sims (Harbeson, Eaton) took her final breath at 12:45 in the morning on October 9th, 2024 while being sung to by her eldest children. Patricia was a loving mother, beloved wife, and doting pet parent.
Patricia was an enthusiastic person in all her hobbies and passions, from hair styles, gardening, music, animals to fencing, bowling, baseball, and football. She was a professional beautician and ran her own salon in her earlier years, which she gave up to be home and be a full-time mother. At that same time, she sang in church choirs and even in the vestry of St. Margaret’s, Menands. Patricia continued to work hair for her entire family for cuts and color for the entirety of her life, teaching her daughters the same skills. She would dance and sing to her favorite albums while cleaning the house and later in life she enjoyed watching games with her husband and dogs in boisterous interaction. Patricia fenced for years and taught the sport to her juniors. She spent her summers in the garden and absolutely loved her flowers, both grown and cut. She bowled on leagues and when she was not able to keep up with the leagues she continued to bowl with her family and was loved at the ally she frequented.
She is survived by her three children, Frederick (Ciarrai) Eaton IV, Barbara Senn (Eaton), and Kyral (Josh) Eaton, as well as their father, Frederick G. Eaton III. She is also survived by her husband, David “Pops” Sims, and his children, whom she brought into her heart: David (LiMessa) Sims, Joseph (Danielle) Sims, and Daniel Sims. Patricia leaves behind her two sisters, Mary (Tommy) Messore and Helene Harbeson, along with her closest friend, Kathy Roberts. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, grand-dogs, her beloved dogs Brutis and Zeva, and many other family members and friends.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, George and Helen Harbeson, her brother George, and her first daughter, Christina.
