Ottilie M. Quidgeon

Ottilie M. Quidgeon, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Home of the Good Shepherd, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 7, 1934, in Sudetenland, Germany the daughter of the late Rudolph Klein and Marie Tomerle.

Ottilie devoted many years of her career as a sewing machine operator at Korell Clothing in the Troy area, where she was admired for her dedication, skill, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she found great happiness tending to her garden and traveling with her beloved husband, Ernie, creating cherished memories together along the way. Above all else, Ottilie's greatest pride and joy was her family. In addition to raising her own children with love and devotion, she opened her heart and home to four foster children, providing them with the same compassion, guidance, and unconditional love that defined her life.

Ottilie is survived by her son, Arthur Welch (Jennifer); daughters, Marianne St. Clair, Odette Westcott (Thomas); grandchildren, Heidi Sickles, Megan Gordon, Melissa York, Kyle Westcott, Justin St. Clair, Sabrina Westcott, many great grandchildren and many friends who will miss her gracious presence. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernie, daughter, Rita Sickles, three sister, and one brother in Germany.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, New York.

Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
