Nicholas Perruccio Obituary

Nicholas Perruccio passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the people he loved. He was born on September 19, 1954, in Herkimer, New York, and would have celebrated his 72nd birthday this month.

Nick fought a difficult battle until the end. While our hearts are broken, we are so grateful for the life we shared with him, the love he gave us, and all the memories, laughter, and good times we will carry with us forever.

Nick is survived by his wife, Charlene; his daughter, Carly and her husband, Bob; and his granddaughter, Lucy. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy and Jon, Jeanine and Chris and Anthony and Lori, along with many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and dear friends.

Nick’s roots in Herkimer ran deep. It was where he grew up, met the love of his life, developed his love of baseball and made lifelong friendships that he remained close with until the end. He looked forward to his weekly golf outings with his longtime buddies there and was lucky enough to get two hole-in-ones during his years of playing - his first with his golf buddies in Herkimer and his second at home with Charlene. Some of his happiest memories were made there, and Herkimer always held a special place in his heart.

In 1979, Nick and Char moved to Saratoga Springs to begin a new chapter. Saratoga became home, and he loved everything about it, especially summer at the racetrack. Some of his favorite times were spent surrounded by family and friends at the summer barbecues he loved to host, where you could always find him at the grill, making sure everyone was fed and having a good time. He also loved hosting Christmas Eve, filling the house with family, friends, good food and the traditions that made those nights so special.

Nick loved spending time away with family, and Wildwood, NJ, always held a special place in his heart. What started as a family tradition over 35 years ago became something we looked forward to each year.  Over time, it grew to include friends, adding to the fun and creating so many memories that we will always treasure.  He also cherished his annual boys’ trips to Florida with family to watch the Yankees during spring training.  These trips were something he looked forward to every year, enjoying the game he loved, the time together, and all the fun they had along the way.

Nick loved his family more than anything. He loved watching sports, especially the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He could often be found watching a game, enjoying a cigar and a Manhattan while listening to music, or sitting down to a good dinner with the people closest to him. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his granddaughter, Lucy. He loved watching her play sports, taking her out to dinner and mini golf, and simply spending time together. He would do just about anything for her and loved being her biggest supporter.
