Nicholas D'Alessandro Obituary

Nicholas D'Alessandro, affectionately known as Nic, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024. Born on May 9, 1954, in the Bronx, New York, he was the beloved son of Rocco and Sophie Margagliotti.

After graduating from Saratoga High School, Nic pursued his passion for community service by becoming a dedicated police officer with the Saratoga Police Department. He served with honor and commitment for 25 years before retiring from law enforcement. Not one to rest on his laurels, Nic embarked on a second career in law, earning his degree and passing the bar to become an accomplished attorney.

Nic's love for motorcycles was a lifelong passion. Over the years, he owned and cherished many models, with his latest being a Yamaha. One of his most cherished traditions was attending the Daytona Bike Fest annually, surrounded by friends and family.

An avid reader and lover of classic movies, Nic found joy in the written word and the timeless artistry of film. He had a profound love for animals, particularly dogs, which held a special place in his heart.

Nic was surrounded by a close-knit circle of friends who enriched his life and remained by his side through thick and thin. He deeply valued these friendships, whether they were with those who had passed on or those who stood by him until his final days.

Nic is survived by the love of his life, Susan D'Alessandro, with whom he shared over 40 wonderful years. He is also survived by his brother, Rocco J. Margagliotti of South Carolina, and his sister, June M. Breckenridge of Florida. Nic will also be fondly remembered by his extended family of friends, particularly those from his favorite local hangout who became like family to him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Sophie Margagliotti, as well as his sisters, Victoria Margagliotti and Valerie Margagliotti.

Nic's sister, June, extends her heartfelt gratitude to his close friends who supported him daily, including Susan McGrath, Pat Mahar, and the Dozer family. Your love and care brought comfort to Nic and his family during his final days.

Nic's legacy of kindness, passion, and service will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
