Nathan Galusha

Nathan Galusha, 35, of Greenfield, passed away on July 29, 2026.

Born on April 4, 1991, in Glens Falls, NY, Nathan was raised on his family's farm in Thurman. It was there that he developed his lifelong love of the outdoors, spending countless hours riding horses, roping cattle, and running heavy equipment with his beloved grandfather, "Poppy." Those early years shaped his adventurous spirit, strong work ethic, and the hardworking man he would become.

Nathan graduated from Warrensburg Central High School in 2009. He began studying Engineering at Clarkson University before pursuing his passion for aviation by transferring to Jamestown Community College's Professional Pilot Program, where he earned his Private Pilot Certificate.

Following college, Nathan worked alongside his family at Patrick Galusha Construction LLC in Warrensburg, serving as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Construction Estimator, and Project Manager. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

Above all else, Nathan's greatest joy was being a father. His son, Owen, was the center of his world, and every decision he made reflected the deep love and devotion he had for him. He also shared a special bond with his loyal dog, Copper, who was rarely far from his side and accompanied him on many of life's adventures.

Nathan felt most at home outdoors. He loved camping, kayaking, hiking, stargazing beneath a clear night sky, and simply being surrounded by nature. As a child, he fell in love with the American West on family road trips. Those trips sparked a lifelong sense of adventure that he couldn't wait to share with his own family.

Nathan and Kaleigh shared two unforgettable road trips out West with Owen, creating memories exploring the places that had captured his heart since he was a boy. Some of his favorite memories included driving Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park with its breathtaking alpine views, exploring Arches National Park near Moab, night hiking down to Ooh Aah Point in the Grand Canyon to watch the sunrise, weaving through Wall Street in Bryce Canyon, and hiking The Narrows in Zion. Those adventures weren't just vacations to Nathan, they were where he felt most alive. Nothing brought him more happiness than sharing those experiences with Kaleigh and Owen, creating memories he hoped Owen would carry with him for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Kaleigh; his son, Owen; his parents, Randy and Jill Galusha of Thurman; his sister, Lindsey (Jared Gailey) Galusha of Ballston Lake; his in-laws, Patrick O'Hanlon and Tina O'Hanlon; his brother-in-law, Brian (Kylee) O'Hanlon of Quakertown, PA; his nephews, Patrick, Declan, and Ryan O'Hanlon of Quakertown, PA; his uncle and aunts, Patrick and Katie Galusha of Warrensburg and Holly Brisbin of Glens Falls; his cousins Taylor (Jeremy) Russo of Warrensburg, Justin (Remmi) Galusha of Warrensburg, Bob (Jenna) Brisbin of Fort Edward, Angela (Thomas) Sherman of Queensbury, and Kristin (Brian Carlson) Simonson of Marblehead, MA; as well as extended family members.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, James and Norma Galusha of Thurman; his maternal grandparents, Gloria Brisbin of Thurman and Robert Brisbin of Charlotte, NC; and his uncle, Bob Brisbin of Kingsbury.

Nathan will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his adventurous spirit, his hardworking nature, and his appreciation for life's simple moments. His memory will live on in every trail explored, every river paddled, every mountain admired, every campfire shared, every star-filled sky, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

A private viewing was held for the immediate family. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date and details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements have been made.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Nathan's memory spend time outdoors with the people they love, or consider making a donation in his honor to the National Park Foundation. The Foundation helps protect and preserve America's national parks through conservation, restoration, and education, ensuring these remarkable places can be enjoyed for generations to come, something so near and dear to Nathan’s heart.
