Michael O’Keefe Jr. passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Saratoga Springs.
Born on September 17, 1936, in Manhattan, Michael was the son of the late Michael and Anna O’Keefe. He is survived by his loving siblings, Kathy Conroy (Brian) and Thomas O’Keefe (Lucille). He was predeceased by his siblings Roseanne O’Keefe, Arlene Tysver (Jerry), William O’Keefe (Lee), and Patricia Disbrow (Keith).
Michael shared a lifelong bond with his childhood sweetheart, Lillian Legarreta, with whom he had two sons, the late Michael III (Susan) and Ronald O’Keefe (Joyce). He is also survived by his grandchildren—Jaclyn, Erin (Miguel), Danielle, Brittany, and Michael O’Keefe IV(Maxi)—his great-grandchildren, Ace and Michael V, and many nieces and nephews.
Later in life, Michael married Linda Ugalde, who predeceased him. They made their home in Saratoga Springs, where he spent many of his later years.
Michael lived an active life. He was a proud business owner of “The Pub” on Staten Island, a Business Agent and dedicated member of the Newspaper and Mail Delivers Union. In his younger years, he played minor league baseball with the Chicago White Sox organization. He also had a lifelong passion for horse racing, spending many years owning, training, and driving horses at his homestead, Chancestead Farms.
He lived a full life and will be remembered with love.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 followed by a service at 7:00 p.m.
