Michael Edward Foskett, 70, of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away on July 14, 2025 after a short battle with cancer.
Michael was born on February 25, 1955, in Winter Harbor, Maine, to Patricia and J. Kenneth Foskett. The third of five children in a military family, Michael’s early years were full of travel and adventure—by the time he was 11, he had lived in Hawaii, the Philippines, Japan, Florida, and Morocco. He spent the rest of his childhood in East Northport, NY, and graduated from Northport High School in 1973.
After high school, Michael moved to Troy, NY, to attend Hudson Valley Community College. He made upstate New York his home for most of his adult life, aside from a short time living in North Carolina. For the past decade, he resided in Ballston Spa.
Michael had a lifelong love of learning, particularly when it came to history and current events. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports on TV, coin collecting and never passed up a perfect steak or an incredibly strong cup of coffee. But his greatest joy was his family, especially his children.
He is survived by his children, Joseph Foskett, John Foskett, and Elizabeth Foerst (Melissa), and by his cherished grandchildren: Henry and Emmett Foskett, and Juliana, Isabelle, Evan, and Chelsea Foerst. He is also survived by his siblings, Kevin (Hilary), Steven, Matthew, and Mary (Scott), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and their respective children.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; his mother, Patricia; his sister-in-law, Anne; and his nephew, Daniel.
He will be remembered with love for his sharp mind, his good sense of humor and wit, and the special way he made those around him feel valued, seen and loved.
