Merry Irwin

HUDSON FALLS - Merry (Barrett) Irwin, 75, passed away March 19, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born on April 11, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Norma Barrett.Merry graduated from Hudson Falls Central School in Hudson Falls, NY.

She was a smart, strong-willed woman who taught her daughters and granddaughters the importance of independence. She was known by all for her witty sense of humor and love for her family.  Merry found joy in traveling, crocheting, turtles, all things Christmas, but most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing wife, sister, friend, mother, grandmother “Nana,” and great-grandmother who will be missed immensely.

Merry was predeceased by her parents, husband of 40 years Samual Irwin, and sisterConnie Anderson.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Lori Ruggi (Ennio) and Chris Liebig (Michael); her grandchildren: Jeremiah Grant, Kaci Austin (Josh), Brendon Ruggi (Jayk), Rylie Liebig, and Raeghan Liebig; and her great-grandchild: Gunner Austin.  She is also survived by her siblings Eva Georgi, Patti Nassivera, Tom Barrett, Frank Barrett, and Steven Barrett.

Per Merry’s request, there will be no public service or calling hours. In leu of flowers, donations to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Sea Turtles can be made in her name.
