Melissa L. Covell

Melissa L. Covell, 51, of Greenfield, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at her home.

Born on March 18, 1972, in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late William and Linda Lou (Langenburg) Covell.

Melissa graduated from Saratoga High School in 1990.

She met David Martin in December, 2001 and the couple resided for several years in Fort Edward, West Milton and also in South Glens Falls. Most recently the couple have lived in Greenfield Center.

Melissa was employed for 18 years as a clerk at Stewarts and then worked for several years as a customer service manager at Walmart in Queensbury.

She enjoyed camping, cooking, watching movies and spending time with her family.

Survivors besides her longtime companion, David Martin of Greenfield Center include two sons, Adam Whitaker of South Glens Falls and Kory Martin of Greenfield Center; one brother, William E. Covell of Saratoga Springs; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Melissa’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.) Saratoga Springs, NY.  Calling hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations go in Melissa’s name to the local animal shelter of one’s choice.
