Mary Hudson Obituary

Mary F. Hudson, born November 25, 1948, passed away unexpectedly, leaving her family and friends heartbroken by the sudden loss of a woman whose life was defined by love, generosity, and positivity.

Mary grew up in Albany, New York, and spent most of her life in Saratoga Springs, a community she proudly called home. She was married to her one true love, Thomas “Tommy” F. Hudson. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to devotion and partnership. Tommy tragically died in the line of duty as a NYS Trooper at the age of 41, and though widowed far too young, Mary carried his memory with strength and raised their daughters with remarkable resilience, faith, and unconditional love.
She was also predeceased by her parents, Hugo and Grace Pelleschi; her in-laws, John and Elizabeth Hudson; her brother-in-law, Carlos Zardoya, her son-in-law, Nicholas Georgeadis; and her niece Kathleen (Katie) Rusch.

Mary was the devoted and adoring mother of three daughters: Carolyn (Christopher) DeSain, Amy Georgeadis, and Jeannie (Timothy) Fontaine.  Her daughters were her greatest pride, and she poured her heart into raising them to be compassionate, strong, and family-centered.

Her most treasured role was that of grandmother to her seven cherished grandchildren: Chloe DeSain, Austin Georgeadis, Christine DeSain, Alexis Georgeadis, Thomas Georgeadis, Ryan Fontaine, and Emma Fontaine. She was the very best grandmother—present, patient, and endlessly loving. She was the kind of grandmother who happily sat on the floor to build with blocks, read story after story, colored for hours, played endless games of Monopoly, made countless trips to the park, and texted or spoke to them everyday – Her favorite mantra was, “What happens at Gramma’s stays at Gramma’s.” She delighted in each of them and made every moment together special with her warmth, encouragement, and endless love.
Mary is also survived by her loving sisters: Debra Pelleschi-Zardoya, Amy (David) Castricone, and Julie (Larry) Rusch, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory.

Mary brightened every room she entered and made friends wherever she went, always making others feel special and important. She had strong convictions and wasn’t afraid to share her opinions, but always with the best intentions. Generous and selfless, she consistently put the needs of others before her own. She showed her love through crocheting, cooking, baking, and caring deeply for all animals. Though her passing was sudden and unexpected, the love she gave so freely will endure in the lives of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
