Mary Hart

Mary Hart, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 10, 1939, in Waterford, NY, she was the daughter of the late Carl Opitz and Anna Wynneck, who immigrated from Poland to build a new life for their family.

Mary built her career as a talented hairdresser in the Troy area, where she enjoyed many years of connecting with people and making them feel their best. With deep pride, she also served her country honorably in the United States Marine Corps.

She later married the love of her life, Douglas E. Hart, with whom she shared countless fun-filled years and the joy of raising three children. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary found happiness in tending her gardens, working around the home, and above all, cherishing time with her family.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Edward C. Hart and Daniel P. Hart, along with many dear friends who will miss her kindness, warmth, and loyal spirit.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Douglas E. Hart, and her son, Michael D. Hart.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or formal services at this time.
