Marilyn Ruth Reiss

Marilyn passed away at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her husband and children.

She was born in Bellville, Ontario Canada to the late Arthur and Doreen (Smith) John. Marilyn loved the outdoors and animals. In her youth she biked around England and sailed the Caribbean. In September of 2021 she climbed Mt Katahdin in Maine with her grade school best friend and his sisters. She turned her love of animals into a 27 year career as a Veterinary Technician at the Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital. She had just achieved her dream of opening a kennel and developing her own line of Labradors. She named her kennel Glamorgan Kennel and Labradors to honor a name that holds deep meaning to her family.

Marilyn’s kindness and charity are well known to all who knew her. She continued her generous ways after death by giving the gift of life to four families through organ donation.

She leaves behind her brother Philip John, sister Susan John, husband George Reiss, daughter Michaela Hitt, son Nicholas Hitt, and a multitude of friends and extended family.
