Marilyn Jean Ernst, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital with family by her side.
She was born on November 1,1937 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the daughter of the late William Harrington and Dorothy Crandall Harrington.
Marilyn (Nonny, nickname given by her grandkids) was a homemaker and waitress for Howard Johnson for many years. She loved gambling, garage sales, playing cards, bowling and cooking for her family and friends. Nonny’s home was always open to anyone who wanted to visit. Having grandchildren was a joy for her, and she especially loved spending time with her family, as she was always looking for a good time.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, James A. Ernst (Lois), Thomas W. Ernst (Joni), Craig W. Ernst (Patricia); daughter, Lynne M. Cassidy (Paul); sister, Mary Parmeter, Jeanette Meers; Grandchildren, Robin Ernst, Albert Ernst, Jennifer Roshong (Wayne), Amy Ernst (Adam), Paul Vincek (Siobhan), Alexandria Versailles (Evan), Colton Cassidy, Great Grandchildren include Jermaine, Alina, Carmyn, Lydian, Adella, Chloe, Avea, Ariella, and her Great, Great Grandchild Jai, her former daughter in law Kathy Holden and former Son in Law, Walt Cassidy, as well as many friends who will miss her gracious smile.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband and soul mate, Albert J. Ernst, her sons Daniel and Kevin Ernst, her sister Bertha Fuller, and her parents William and Dorothy.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, June 3,2022 at Maplewood Cemetery at the corner of Weibel Road and Louden Road.
