Margaret A. Fitzgerald, 83, of Schuylerville, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 6, 1942, in Ballston Spa, New York, she was the daughter of the late Salvator and Beatrice (Keegan) Salvato.
Margaret dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked for many years as a Patient Care Assistant at Saratoga Hospital before later providing compassionate home health care. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched.
In her free time, Margaret enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing Yahtzee, reading books, and sharing a good cup of coffee with family and friends. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with those she loved.
Margaret is survived by her three daughters, Amy Fitzgerald, Angie Fitzgerald, and Alyson Fitzgerald; her son, Timothy Fitzgerald (Christy); her sisters, Sally, Jeannie, Bonnie, and Kaye; her cherished grandchildren, Kelly, Starr, Zack, Travis, Tyler, Mariah, Zoey, Elijah, Jakeup, and Josh; many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a special daughter-in-law, Wanda Joiner.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, Amil Fitzgerald, and her siblings, Marylou Cox, Micky Salvato, Joey Salvato, and Ilene Fitzgerald.
In keeping with Margaret's wishes, there will be no services.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Saratoga Community Hospice, Lori and Alyson and her granddaughter Mariah Hoefer for their special care.
