After a long period of poor health, Madeline (Savas) Hutchins passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, she was 86.
Madeline was born and raised in Albany, New York. She attended and graduated from Albany High School. After graduation she went to work at the state campus. While employed at the campus she met her future husband, Howard Hutchins.
Madeline and Howard had two sons, Daniel Hutchins (Kelly), David Hutchins (Debora) and three grandchildren. Together, they shared 63 anniversaries. Living with Madeline was never boring, she loved life and enjoyed a good laugh. She had a good sense of humor as well as a competitive spirit. Madeline loved her family and made sure they were well cared for. When she was a young woman, she was very athletic, her favorite sports were volleyball, softball, camping and fishing. Card games were also high on her list. Don't ever underestimate her when she is in a poker game. She took no prisoners, she always played to win.
Her home was her pride and joy, everything had its place, always neat and clean. To her, housework was fun. With loud music she sang and danced the cares away. In the kitchen she was a wizard. She enjoyed cooking and was good at it. No food was ever wasted, and leftovers were transformed into stews and casseroles. Madeline was a good wife and loving mother; she showered us with love. She always put the family needs before her own. She will be missed but never forgotten.
