Loraine Eichorst

Loraine Eichorst, age 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Ellis hospital with her loving family by her side.  

She was born on January 11, 1955 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the daughter of the late James Baker and Geraldine O’Dell.

Loraine worked at the Wesley Health Care Center in the Nutritional Services department for many years. She also was a babysitter for many years before working at Wesley.

Loraine loved going on the family vacations to Maine and spending time with her family and extended family and friends.  She loved going to Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee, and spending spare time quilting and gardening.

Loraine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan H. Desourdy and Henry Desourdy Jr.; sister, Joan and Gordon McGrath; sister-in-law, Bertha O’Hara (Bob O’Hara), Donna Baker; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and extended family Joe and Lori Luse and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Eichorst Jr. of 43 years; brother, William Baker; nephews, Daniel Herrington and Mark Herrington; niece Barbara Schukes; and brother-in-law, Edward Schukes.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Monday May 10, 2021 with Reverend Carole Miller officiating at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York. Calling hours will be held from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

Interment will be at Middle Grove Cemetery, 400, Middle Grove Rd, Middle Gove, NY, following the service on Monday.
