Linda LaChance Obituary

Linda LaChance of Saratoga Springs, New York passed peacefully  on May 23rd, 2024 surrounded by her loving husband Ray, family,  and dear friend Gregg. Born in 1948 on May 23rd , she was predeceased by her parents, Helene and Edwin Aken, her sister Blanch, her brother Edwin C. Aken, as well as her beloved children Frank and Tammy Myers.  She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 30 years,  Raymond LaChance, her two sons John and Bryan Gailor,  sister Joyce Wetherington (Eugene), Sister in Law Shirley Aken, her beloved dog Gizmo,  as well as many  grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces,  nephews and her dear and cherished friends at Embury apartments and beyond.  Linda worked as an Executive Assistant for more than 30 years at Wesley Healthcare Center and shared her vast knowledge with many who followed in her footsteps. Her absence will be felt by so many in this community. She was the beacon of hope and caring for any life she touched.  Linda was a friend and caregiver for so many throughout her entire life.  Her heart was as big as it could be. She enjoyed crafting, making wreaths and cards for many residents of the Embury apartments. If you were to walk around the floors at Embury you would see Lindas beautiful creations adorning many of the apartment doors!   She and her husband Ray would regularly make meals for some of the residents of Embury just to brighten their day. Every year many would get handmade cards from Linda on their birthday.  Her loving outreach touched the people she held dear both near and far.  Linda always made sure she called and checked on her family and friends,  even on her worst days you could always take comfort in knowing that she was an ear or a shoulder to cry on or confide in.  Her loving outreach touched the people she held dear, and you always knew how much she cared.

Committed to her  community, she leaves many friends and their families with fond memories. Funeral services will be private, and a Celebration of Life  will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s  name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
