Lina Simpson Obituary

Lina Simpson - native of Saratoga Springs, Queensbury and South Glens Falls, New York - joined our glorious Father in heaven on May 8th, 2023.  She was nurtured, loved, and has been seceded by her caring mother, Louiselle, who was there at her side right up until the very end.  Lina passed quietly, surrounded by her loved ones and her best friend Karen Magnell.

Born April 24th, 1960, daughter of Rock LaFrance and Louiselle Breton (previously LaFrance), older sister to Pierre LaFrance, and succeeded by her two loving sons Devon Webb and Dayle Webb; was born and raised in Thetford Mines, Canada, and immigrated to the United States at the age of twelve years old with her two parents and younger brother, Pierre.

Coming from an entirely French-speaking region of Northern Canada in the Province of Quebec, Lina and her brother Pierre had to learn to speak English when they got to the United States in Elementary school. Learning the English language came easier to her younger brother Pierre than her, but eventually she got it, and English became her secondary Language. Lina and her immediate family of four moved from state to state in the New York & New England Region so that her father, Rock, could earn a management position within the Canadian Pacific and Amtrak Railroad Companies in which he eventually retired.

After moving from town to town, Lina and her family were finally able to call Saratoga Springs, New York their hometown. This is where Lina attended and graduated High School, and where she eventually met her future ex-husband, Billy Simpson, with whom her last name currently still remains. After a short marriage, Billy and Lina eventually grew apart. It is in the late 80's where Lina would eventually meet the father of her children, Michael Webb, and give birth to two baby boys; first Devon in '88 and then Dayle in '90. This is when Lina would become the amazing, loving, full-of-hope, and hard-working mother that she was, and gave it her all at being the best mother that she possibly could (and was). Lina purchased an amazing family home in South Glens Falls, NY where she lived and raised her children up and into their adult years. Her boys went to South Glens Falls School District, played baseball and football, skied and snowboarded, had dirt bikes and four wheelers; and Lina was (whole-heartedly) their biggest and most supportive fan. Vocationally, Lina retired as an Independent Insurance Broker after 20 years at Travelers Insurance followed by employment at a couple other independent insurance agencies thereafter. Lina always placed her responsibilities and work ethic before all else, but that never put a damper on her positive and optimistic demeanor. Her ability to see the positivity or make the best out of each and every situation was admirable. Lina loved life and you could tell within minutes of having a conversation with her. She could find a reason to celebrate no matter how bad the circumstance; and that's just how she would want to be remembered.
