It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness we share that LeRoy A. Page, Jr., age 77, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Stratton VA Medical Center, in Albany NY. LeRoy transitioned with his wife Rebecca, son Noah and daughter Olivia by his side. LeRoy was held in love by his family as we listened to LeRoy’s favorite songs by The Temptations.
LeRoy was born on Saturday December 21, 1947, in New Rochelle, NY, to the late LeRoy A. Page Sr. and Jennie V. (Smith) Page. LeRoy was the oldest of 5 children.
LeRoy proudly served his country with honor and distinction. LeRoy served in The United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1969. LeRoy received an honorable discharge on May 29, 1969. LeRoy was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Metal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and a Purple Heart. LeRoy’s unit also awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, which is given to units that display gallantry, that set them apart from other units.
LeRoy moved to the Saratoga Springs area in 1973. After many years, LeRoy retired as a manager from General Foods.
LeRoy had a smile that would light up the room. LeRoy had an infectious personality; he loved to laugh and to bring a smile to others. He was a generous man who loved his family. LeRoy enjoyed fishing in Saratoga Lake in his younger years. In later years, he loved taking his daughter Olivia to Saratoga Lake to watch the water as they had lunch together. LeRoy enjoyed watching movies and sharing about his military career with his son Noah. LeRoy loved music and shared that love with all his children and family. He especially loved The Temptations and would often be caught singing. During our last family visit, LeRoy was sitting in his room with his sunglasses on singing Hotel California. He told us he was “in a vibe”. LeRoy was a peaceful man who also enjoyed the simple pleasure of watching a rainstorm from inside of his garage. LeRoy loved food, specifically homecooked meals. Some favorite dishes were his daughter Shavonne’s gumbo, his brother Richard’s eggs, his mother’s fried chicken and potato salad and his father-in-law, Gary Rainstrom’s, prime rib and Swedish meatballs.
LeRoy is survived is devoted wife, Rebecca, with whom he spent the last 27 years with, his son Noah Rainstrom-Page; daughters Dawn Page, Yvette Page-Robinson, Shavonne Means (Web) and Olivia Rainstrom-Page; brothers Robert Page (Gail), Edward Page; sister Elaine Page; grandsons Bashaan, Isaiah, Xavier and Lucas, as well as extended family including nieces, nephews, sister in laws, cousins and mother in law Victoria Severson and her husband Tom.
In addition to his parents, LeRoy was predeceased by his beloved brother Richard Page, father-in-law, Gary Rainstrom and his beloved German Shepard Justice.
We would ask that you do a kind gesture in memory of LeRoy. LeRoy always said that kindness didn’t cost a thing. Make someone smile and as you do, remember the beautiful smile of our beloved husband, father, brother and friend LeRoy.
