Lawrence “Larry” Lupo, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 23, 1933, in Glens Falls, NY, Larry was the son of the late Pasquale Lupo and Laura Renalli Lupo.

Larry graduated from St Mary’s Academy in Glens Falls, NY in 1950. Upon his graduation, he joined the Marine Corps and proudly served front line combat in the Korean War. Despite the realities of war, Larry’s devotion and determination shaped him into the dedicated, loving husband, father and friend for the remainder of his life.

After returning from the war, Larry met the love of his life, Paula Lupo while stationed in Portsmouth, NH. Larry and Paula were happily married for 62 years enjoying a full life with their 5 children, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Larry lived an active and vibrant life, finding joy in spending time with his dogs, cycling, tennis, and basketball. He was a gifted photographer, documenting everything from his time in Korea, to his loving family, to balloon festivals and car shows. One of his favorite pastimes after retirement was flying using a flight simulator, where he indulged in his fascination with aviation. Above all, Larry cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness.

He is survived by his children: John Lupo, Debra Teitsworth (Tom), Lori Francett (Michael), Anthony Lupo (Virginia), and Matthew Lupo; his grandchildren Jeremiah Lupo, Tim Teitsworth (Julie), Elly Teitsworth (Simon), Abby Teitsworth, Jill Teitsworth (Seth Rosenthal), and Emma Francett; three great-grandchildren; and many dear friends who will forever remember his kind and humble spirit.

Larry was predeceased by his devoted wife, Paula Lupo, his loving mother-in-law Evelyn Paterson and his parents.

A military service will take place at a later date for close family and friends. At his request, there will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Semper Fi & America’s Fund at https://thefund.org.

Larry’s legacy of courage, love, and strength will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
