Laurie Dudka, age 54, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
She was born on October 6, 1971, in Saratoga Springs, New York, the beloved daughter of Walter Brackett and Patsy Camfield.
Laurie was the proud co-owner and operator of Dudka Racing Stables in Saratoga Springs, where she built not only a respected business, but a lasting legacy rooted in her lifelong passion for horses. She was widely known in the local racing and riding community for her dedication, knowledge, and deep love for the animals in her care. Beyond her work, Laurie had a generous heart, especially for children. She proudly organized the Give a Child a Christmas fundraiser, bringing joy and support to children in need during the holiday season. Having owned and worked with horses, and harness horses, throughout her life, she formed many lasting friendships and was deeply respected within the community. She created magical and meaningful experiences that brought joy and inspiration to many young lives. Her kindness, warmth, and willingness to share her passion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Laurie’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved deeply. She is survived by her loving mother, Patsy Harris (Ron), her son, Anthony Brackett-Levo (Sara Gates); her husband, Paul Dudka; her stepson, Brett Dudka; and her stepdaughter, Maddie Hotaling (John). She is also survived by her brother, Walter Brackett Jr. (Hana); her half-sister, Kaela Capoccia (Nick); and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever remember her gracious spirit, strength, and love.
She was predeceased by her father, Walter Brackett.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, New York.
Laurie’s legacy of compassion, dedication, and love for both people and horses will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the VFW Post 420, 190 Excelsior Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 following the calling hours.
