Kenneth Lawrence Smith, born January 16, 1957, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024. He was the 2nd oldest child of his late Mother Naomi Willis and Rosco Willis. He has 1 sister the late Kim Dunn-Jones, and his 3 brothers the late Calvin Willis and surviving brother Willard Smith and brother-in-law Nelson Jones. Kenneth will be deeply missed by his nieces
Jessica, Justine, Jalesa, Jackie, Jem and nephew Kion.
Kenneth grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and worked as a building supervisor at 25 Lefferts Avenue alongside his father and brother Willard. In his youth, Kenneth shared many adventures with his best friend and brother, Willard. He also developed a passion for juggling. Throughout his many years in Saratoga, he served as a building maintenance supervisor for the many buildings of the Roohan Agency. He juggled publicly in Congress Park entertaining young and old alike and was featured in the local newspaper several times. He also enjoyed painting caricatures and sketching people in pencil and charcoal.
He was deeply spiritual, baptized at the age of 16, and dedicated much of his life attending assemblies and conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Vermont, Massachusetts, and New York. Kenneth played a role in building the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Saratoga Springs at the corner of Edie Rd. and Rt. 50 and frequently spoke from its platform.
Known for his strong faith in his creator Jehovah God, Kenneth openly shared his beliefs and was respected by all who knew him in downtown Saratoga.
A funeral service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 192 Edie Rd. on July 13 at 3:00 PM. Donations may be made in person at the service or online at; www.donate.jw.org.
