Keith Joseph Forbes

Keith Joseph Forbes, age 53, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Saratoga Hospital.

Keith was the beloved husband of Sonia, father of Julian, brother of Shane,

and the son of the late Russel J. Forbes and the late Arlene M. Forbes (née Pulle). He was born on June 29, 1968, in Kuwait City, Kuwait.

Keith earned a Bachelor’s degree from New College of Florida and a Master’s degree from the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.

He was a climate change expert with experience in land use and the energy sector, and implemented projects for local, state, and federal governments, both in the U.S. and internationally. Keith also acted as the principal consultant in his company, Integrated Sustainability Solutions.

Keith’s passion for the environment as well as his linguistic talent and diverse cultural background took him to more than twenty countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. He liked to describe his international work as an opportunity to give voice to local community members.

In his free time, Keith enjoyed hiking in the Adirondack Mountains, kayaking on the Hudson River, and spending time with his family and friends. His humor and love of life will be greatly missed.    

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 20, at Saint Clement’s Church in Saratoga Springs, New York. Due to the ongoing public health concerns with COVID, social distancing and facial masks are recommended.
