On August 27, 2021, Katherine Louise Vitarelle, age 90, went to heaven to join the love of her life, Arnold, who she was married to for 68 years.
Together they had three children, Kathleen Rowe, Ginny Vitarelle, and Arnold Vitarelle II, and eight grandchildren. Katherine, known to her friends and family as Kay, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passionately loved her family. She taught her children and grandchildren to put their heart into whatever it was they were doing and to always put others before yourself. Kay was always the first to offer help and support. She made sure that everyone in her life was healthy, happy and well fed! She loved to cook and bake. During the holidays, she would make an endless variety of cookies. Her baking skills could rival that of any professional baker. She passed her passion for baking down to her children and grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spending time in the kitchen baking with her family. Kay also enjoyed knitting, sewing and making latch hook rugs. She made beautiful rugs for all of her family members to hang in their homes. Kay’s love for the holidays was one that embodied the true spirit of Christmas. Every year she decked out her home in Christmas decorations and sang along to her favorite Christmas songs. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her husband. He was her best friend. Kay and Arnie were the purest example of true love. Even after 68 years of marriage, they still held hands as they watched TV. They loved planting flowers, watching the birds, and taking care of the small animals at their home. They did anything and everything for each other and continued to fall more in love every day.
