Karen Harrison Obituary

Karen A. Harrison, age 73, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at her home in Saratoga Springs with her family at her side.

She was born on March 29, 1947 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the daughter of the late James Lant and Kathleen Drew Lant.

Karen was the Owner/Operator of Harrison’s Used Cars in the Saratoga Springs area for many years.  She was instrumental in starting the Breast Cancer Support group through Saratoga Hospital.  Karen devoted her time to the Women’s Breast cancer events in the local area.  Forever joyful, her infectious enthusiasm for life and its challenges never failed to open others' minds to new possibilities. She found joy in spending time with her family and very dear friends.

Karen is survived by her son, Mark Harrison (Suzanne Middlebrook); daughter, Julieann “Julie” Harrison and Donny Bullard; brothers, Jim Lant (Wylene), John Lant (Susan); sister, Roberta “Bobbi” Lant; grandchildren, Brad Harrison, Olivia Harrison, Adam Harrison and Ashley Harrison, Tyler Bullard, Kiara Bullard; many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Jerrold (Jerry) Lant in 2016.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2020 following the visitation at her daughter’s home, 663 Acland Blvd., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.  Family and friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen’s name to the Breast Cancer Women’s Survival Group, C/O Saratoga Hospital Patient Fund, C/O Radiology Oncology Center, 211 Church Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or Franklin Community Center, 10 Franklin St, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

The CDC has recommended we limit attendance to 25% capacity. We ask that you please be mindful of the ongoing health concerns of COVID-19, and we thank you for your patience as we work to safeguard the wellness of every guest and the staff.
